7am Saturday
November 30, 2019
Good morning! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends! I can’t believe the holidays are here once again. With the year coming to a close it’s a great time to think about what we’re grateful for, what we’ve accomplished over the past year, and what we’re looking forward to in the coming year.
One thing I’m grateful for is YOU! Thank you for joining me every Saturday.
7 More Things I’m Grateful For
1️⃣ – Family, of course. Life is so crazy raising these three, but also a blast! These people bring so much joy to my life. The best part is that every day gets even better. The best form of compounding is not interest, but joy. Invest in your family first, and you’ll see what I mean.
2️⃣ – The S&P 500, Dow Jones Industrial Average, and NASDAQ are all within 1% of an All-Time High and all 3 indices are up more than 20% this year.
3️⃣ – We are currently living in the longest economic expansion in history. The expansion has lasted more than 124 months (since July 2009). This expansion follows the worst recession since the Great Depression. If you were an investor during the last recession you will never forget it, and it likely makes you appreciate the current economic expansion and bull market in stocks even more.
4️⃣ – This year the unemployment rate hit a 50-year low of 3.5% and is currently at 3.6%! Americans are working which is a big reason we continue to see the economy expand. Everywhere you look you will find “now hiring” signs. Today’s challenge for business owners is finding enough quality people for the jobs they need to fill. For the past 18 months we’ve had more job openings than people looking for jobs. Yes, it’s a challenge for businesses, but we will take it. This is a much better position for the job market than where we were in 2009 with 10%+ unemployment.
5️⃣ – Our office is in Findlay, Ohio, the #1 Micropolitan Community in the US. It’s also a great place to live!
6️⃣ – Our firm’s assets under management are at an All-Time High! I am so thankful for our clients. It is an honor to be the trusted advisor for so many wonderful individuals, families, and organizations.
7️⃣ – I have the best team to work with! If you’re not working with us, then you’re missing out!
Black Friday Deals (still going on)
Here are some of my favorite deals you may not have heard of. If you’re into using technology to save time or money, productivity, or maximizing the use of your iPhone & iPad I thought you might like them too…
Full Focus Store – Michael Hyatt’s planners, notebooks, journals, and books are all 15% off through Sunday night. Courses are all 50% off. I used to use the Full Focus Planner, and I’m a big fan of the format if you like using a written planner. I recently bought an iPad Pro and I’m making the commitment to going 100% digital. In the past I would have jumped on this deal, but since I’m going all-in on digital I will pass on this offer.
The Sweet Setup – I have been reading articles on The Sweet Setup for a few years. They do a great job of finding awesome apps for your iPhone, iPad, and Mac. I find there recommendations to be spot on and their reviews extremely helpful when looking for new apps. They also have a number of courses to show you how to get the most out of some of their most highly recommended apps. You can get access to their entire course library for just $99. This is a savings of $171 that will expire on Monday. I bought the mobile photography course from The Sweet Setup previously, and I’ve recently started using several of the apps in this course bundle (Ulysses & Goodnotes), so I snagged this great deal.
By the way…I’m really trying to learn how to take better pictures on my iPhone. I snap tons of them, but I’m always looking to improve my skills. Here are some great tips for taking those holiday photos.
Google Nest Learning Thermostat – We had one of these in our last house. I never thought I’d get excited about a thermostat, but this one is great! It learns what temperature you like and then builds a heating and cooling schedule around your preferences. Studies show that it will save 10-15% on heating and cooling bills, so on average it pays for itself in two years. Even better is that you can control it from your smartphone. You can save $70 and grab one of these for $179 on this Black Friday deal through December 4th. Mine is on the way.
It’s Gameday!
